Superhero movies became a sensation between 2011-2019. And majority of the credit goes to Marvel for creating the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It’s not like superhero movies weren’t made before but the way Marvel did it, no one thought was possible. MCU created standalone movies focused on particular superheros’ which started with Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man (2008) to bringing them all together in a single movie, Marvels the Avengers (2012). It grossed more than 1 billion U.S. dollars in the global box office and MCU established itself with this movie. MCU has a track record of no flop movies during this 8 years time frame. Especially The Avengers Movie series is highest grossing of them all and each of the Avengers movie earned more than the previous one.

I can write a lot based on MCU but today’s topic is not about it. I have seen in Google many websites ranked Marvels movies, some ranked even Avengers movies according to likability. While I am not saying their ranking is incorrect but I am not satisfied with it. So I have created my own ranking. 4. The Avengers (2012)

Like any other franchises MCU was testing if this ‘bringing all the superheros together’ type of movies will be liked by the audience with this movie. I think it was less of a superhero movie and more of a typical action movie. It had its share of superhero moments, avengers first assemble is the most memorable one. But lacked in other superhero aspects like fantasy action sequences, captain america’s uniform was dull and a powerfull main villain.

Loki is a good villain but he doesn’t have the power or personality to be the big bad maybe in a solo superhero film but not in a film like the Avengers. As I have mentioned previously it was the first attempt to test what type of movie the audiences were expecting from the MCU. That is why if you look closely later movies changed to an overall lighter tone so that any age group of audience from kids to teenagers can enjoy.

3. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

I have mixed feelings about this movie not because Avengers for the first time lost a battle but becuase of its story narration. This movie was supposed to be the last movie but then it was divided into two parts. One is Infinity war and other is Endgame to completly narrate and wrap up the Infinity Stone saga. This movie also brought many superheros across the universe together.

Thanks to Civil War the Avengers were broken in two groups, this is the main reason why we have to follow the storyline in different locations. Personally I don’t like this thing in movies because at a particular location a scene is happening and you are enjoying it and suddenly the movie change its location and a different scene is going on there, somehow it kills the mood. This movie in particular had three different locations at the beginning and by the end it had two. I also think in order focus on all the superheroes this movie forgot to focus on the main 6 Avengers. And what worse is Hawkeye was not even in here, we get to see hulk for only few moments etc. But Iron Man’s nanotech suit and Spiderman’s Iron Spider suit was amazing though.

2. Avengers: Endgame (2019)

If it wasnt for the movie which is in the 1st position, this movie would have been number 1. Unlike its prequal I enjoyed it throughly like millions of fans out there. After Infinity War everyone in this world was eager to know what will happen next and endgame did not dissapoint. I still remember how excited I was to watch this movie.

It had everything and most notably the largest assembel of marvel superheros in a single location. But unlike Infinity War this movie mainly focused on the main 6 avengers. Some tragic moments were also included like Iron Man and Black Widow’s sacrifice and Captain America putting down his shield. Also few histories in MCU were made with movie like Marvel Trinity vs. Thanos, Captain America lifting Mjolnir, Professor Hulk etc. Overall this movie was a superhero masterpiece because this movie was able to blend real life emotions with fantasy actions.

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

I put this movie at number 1 position because it was more entertaining to me than all the other movies that came before and after this one. And ironically it is considered the weakest Avengers movie. I love it because it had the perfect blend of action, comedy and superheroism, nothing too much or too less. And I get to know this fact little later who James Spader is. James Spader voiced the marvel supervillain Ultron. His deep and alluring voice made Ultron all the more terryfying and unpredictable villain.

Plus it had some incredible moments like hammer lifting scene, Hulk vs. Hulkbuster fight, Vision’s birth and many more. Interestingly this is one of those movies which has a lot of deleted scene and raw footage. Which showcases that the writers and director were really confused about this movie mostly because with this movie the concept of Infinity Stones came to light.

Conclusion:

I want to conclude by saying the word “worst” that I mentioned in the title is just so that you click the link. None of the Avengers movies were bad, sure they had their flaws but not outright bad.

Also I did not include Civil War (2016) because it did not say ‘Avengers: Civil War’, it said ‘Captain America: Civil War’. Moreover Civil War was the third and final movie in Captain America’s trilogy and in the core, it completed the storyline of Captain America. One other reason that movie is not in the list is because out of the 6 main avengers ( Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye) who started all these, 2 were missing (Thor and Hulk). And I have made this ranking based on my take on these movies so they are not based on any statistical figure like box office collection, different ratings and reviews.
