Vegeta is the prince of all saiyans and couldn’t become king because his planet was destroyed by Frieza. Nonetheless just because he is a prince doesn’t mean he is weak or just give orders to his people. Vegeta is the second strongest character in his universe and he has an arsenal of transformations under his sleeve. In this post I will discuss Vegeta’s transformations.

Now the character that I mentioned in the title is known for his trash talk, arrogant and anti social behaviour. DB (Dragon Ball) fandom has different opinions about him, some say he had the best character development than any other character in the series, while others love him for his growth over the years. I personally admire him because of who he is as a chracter with both his postive and negative traits. And when I started watching DBZ (Dragon Ball Z) he was the first person I saw, and back then I loved anti heros.

Now over the years Vegeta’s character not only went through chracter development but he also acquired some powerful forms/transformations too. And in this post I will rank them. Posts like this are already available on Google but as a Vegeta fan I thought it would be an honour to create this list.

If you want to know more about Dragon Ball you can read this post of mine.

All of Vegeta’s Forms ranked from weakest to strongest:

Base Form:

Vegeta's Base form

Vegeta’s weakest transformation is his base state before he undergoes any transformative power boosts. This is technically Vegeta’s weakest state, but the primary advantage of it is that there’s no drain on his stamina. He’s not put under any strain, and the base form of a Saiyan is still stronger than most other races. This base form is what Vegeta used to fight in the Saiyan Saga as well as the subsequent Namek Saga. In this form he is still strong enough to destroy entire planets.

Super Saiyan

Vegeta's Transformation to Super Saiyan

After Goku achieved the very first Super Saiyan form, Vegeta underwent heavy training, dedicated to surpassing his rival. This Vegeta’s transformation enhances all of Vegeta’s combat aspects while turning his hair a signature yellow. It took Vegeta years of training to achieve Super Saiyan. After its introduction it has become a form Vegeta mostly uses when he is testing his opponents. It is said Super Saiyan transformation is 50 times stronger than the base form.

Super Saiyan Grade ll

Super saiyan grade ll

Super Saiyan transformations eventually become so commonplace that even young children start to achieve them. Early on, it was believed that only one Saiyan was worthy enough to become the “true” Super Saiyan. Vegeta is disheartened to see Goku ascend before him, but his ego reaches an all-time high during the Cell Saga. After training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a year, Vegeta finally achieves the power of Super Saiyan Second Grade.  During his time training, he achieved a form that ascended to that of a Super Saiyan. In a way, this form was an unperfected version of Super Saiyan 2, but its power remained higher than that of a regular Super Saiyan. This form caused Vegeta to appear bulkier, which may have hindered his speed, but his power was incredible. Notable mention that Super Vegeta’s Final Flash almost killed Perfect Cell.

Super Saiyan ll

Vegeta's transformation to Super saiyan 2

Vegeta first reaches this milestone during his battle against Goku when he was under Babidi’s malevolent Majin influence. But some argue he actually achieved Super Saiyan 2 during the gap of 7 years between Cell and Buu saga. Super Saiyan 2 stands to be a higher power multiplier than the base Super Saiyan, and because of that, this form is stronger than even Super Vegeta (as it’s basically the perfected form of Super Vegeta).

In Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta uses this transformation a lot less. He only uses it in the fight against Beerus since it’s his only hope of standing a chance against the God of Destruction’s strength. Beerus disrespects Vegeta’s wife, Bulma, and the Saiyan responds with enraged Super Saiyan 2, which is also called Super Saiyan Rage. This form temporarily put him on par with Super Saiyan 3 Goku. For a long time, Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta was the Saiyan’s strongest transformation. Vegeta never actually canonically attains Super Saiyan 3 power, temporarily leaving Super Saiyan 2 as his peak. It is believed that Super Saiyan 2 is twice as strong as Super Saiyan.

Super Saiyan lV

Super saiyan 4

The Dragon Ball GT show gave fans one of the coolest transformations to exist in the Dragon Ball universe: Super Saiyan 4. After harnessing the power of the Oozaru (Great Ape) form and using the power of a Super Saiyan, Vegeta is able to transform into Super Saiyan 4, giving him a unique look. This form was the strongest of its time, and he was able to help fight back against the likes of Omega Shenron. Some could even argue that this form would be stronger than his god form, though it lacks divine ki. This from taps into the Saiyan race giving him fur and a tail. This form is 10 times stronger than Super Saiyan 3 (while Super Saiyan 3 is 4 times stronger than Super Saiyan 2).

Super Saiyan God

Super saiyan God

Super Saiyan God is the first new Super Saiyan transformation introduced in Dragon Ball Super, making its debut with Goku. Vegeta curiously appears to skip this stage when he becomes Super Saiyan Blue during his fight against Golden Frieza. Vegeta’s Super Saiyan God anime debut doesn’t occur until the anime’s first feature film, Dragon Ball Super: Broly. While using this divine energy, Vegeta uncommonly seems calm while fighting, and is able to fight back against Broly. The Super Saiyan God form remains stronger than any other form before using the powers of divinity, because it’s that divine ki that makes it so powerfully unique. This form is said to be 100,000 times stronger than Vegeta’s base form.

Super Saiyan Blue

Super saiyan blue

It was a turning point for Vegeta when he begins to train under Universe 7’s respective God of Destruction and Angel, Beerus, and Whis. Vegeta’s dedicated training culminates in Super Saiyan Blue power. he doesn’t just master the basics of Super Saiyan Blue; he becomes adept at when to phase in and out of the transformation to maximize his stamina and not waste any energy. That is why later in the series he even ascends to a higher level of Blue.

In this form, Vegeta gave Frieza a revengeful beat down, and Frieza couldn’t even fight back, even in his Golden form, Frieza still had trouble against the Blue transformation. This form was a simple combination of Super Saiyan and divine energy, skyrocketing its power above Super Saiyan God. In all the arcs of Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta used his Super Saiyan Blue to its fullest effect. This was the form that Vegeta used to completely overpower Goku Black in their second meeting while also being the same form that Vegeta used to gain success in the Tournament of Power by knocking out many contestants.

This calculation of this form’s strength is sinmple as it is equal to a normal Super Saiyan tranformation. So if we think Red hair is the base then Blue is 50 times stronger than that. Unfortunately the scaling of DBZ won’t apply here. Because in DBS (Dragon Ball Super) we are dealing with God Ki.

Super Saiyan Blue Evolution

Super saiyan blue evolution

Super Saiyan Blue Evolution is equlivalent to Super Saiyan Grade ll of Dragon Ball Z. Goku’s Blue Kaio-Ken gives him a substantial advantage over Vegeta, and Super Saiyan Blue Evolution is a bulky upgrade that attempts to match that form. Super Saiyan Blue Evolved occurs when Vegeta faces with Universe 11’s Jiren, during the Tournament of Power. It’s hard to visually distinguish this Super Saiyan Blue variation but this form was like perfected version of Blue transformation, and showcased Vegeta with more muscle mass; his hair and aura were also a deeper blue color.

This form made Vegeta a lot stronger than its regular blue, as he made some impressive actions against Jiren. Also in this form Vegeta went one-on-one with Toppo in his Destroyer form and ended up overpowering Universe 11’s next deity. This form is said to be 20 times stronger than Super Saiyan Blue. But the true potential of this form is yet to be revealed because some fans considers it as Super Saiyan Blue 2.

Conclusion:

I would like to conclude by saying all the transformations which are added here are from the anime. I haven’t add any transformations that have been introduced in the manga or being used in various video games but are not in the anime, because most of us only follow the anime. All these transformations are scattered accross various DB animes. For example Super saiyan, Super Saiyan 2 was introduced in Dragon Ball Z, Super Saiyan 4 was introduced in Dragon Ball GT, While the God and Blue forms were introduced in the latest anime Dragon Ball Super.

I hope you will like this ranking and if you have any new input, please feel free to share!
