An Equality Which Will Never Come

We talk about gender equality but does it ever happen?

The issues that a man and a woman have to face are vast. Society mostly judges women more harshly compared to men.

Now I am not going to sugarcoat anything in here, neither I am writing this because I am a hardcore feminist. Frankly speaking, I don’t even know what the word stands for!

I believe in the balance. Just because she is a woman give her the seat on the bus or a train. Or just because she is a woman, she needs to have this promotion, I am strongly opposed to that.

And I think any strong woman who can look after herself will be too.

I believe if you are worthy you will get the things you deserve regardless of if you are a man or a woman.

It has been developed as a common belief that helping women, and giving them some benefits without them asking means creating equality. Which I think is not equality, but more like pity.

A strong woman knows what she wants and goes after it regardless. The sad thing is these strong women are very rare.

This world is full of women who can’t protect or look after themselves. Just being brave and bold on social media doesn’t make you strong. You need to prove your gut in the real world.

And by showing these weak women pity, we think we are making a difference.

Well, we are not!

Anyway, this discussion is for another time. Below I am going to talk about how women have to face more struggles in every step.

Clothing

A man can wear anything he wants. Bear body showing abs, wow hot. If a woman poses in a bikini that’s a crime. This mostly happens in Asian countries.

Other than that, each household has its own set of regulations about what a woman must wear when she is going outside. But men can wear anything they want.

Behavior

A woman has to behave in a certain way. From the way she walks, sits and moves. Each and every one of her movies will be judged. She doesn’t even have the freedom to smile openly. No, she has to hide her face.

For men, the more wild or uncivilized their behavior is, the more attractive and macho they are.

Education

Again higher studies are unnecessary for women after all when she is of age she has to get married, have kids and take care of the husband’s family. Back in the day women studying was considered taboo, at least nowadays they get to have a degree or two.

But for men, the higher the education the better. The same society judges men based on their degrees. While women get judged by their cooking skills.

Financial Independence

This point is closely related to the previous point that I mentioned. Women working was a massively negative thing even a few years ago. While a man has to provide for his family, all a woman should do is stay at home.

Nobody realized the risks it hold. What will happen to the woman if the man dies? Or if he leaves her?

Relationships

Having multiple girlfriends makes a man popular. While having multiple boyfriends makes a woman characterless.

Having too many partners is generally wrong. But the different view of perception is what I tried to describe here. Both the man and the woman should be viewed in the same way but we only criticize the women.

I have many more points but I think these five points can suffice what I am trying to say here. A bad thing should be punishable no matter if you are a man or a woman. Same way good deeds should be congratulated for both a man and a woman.

But I don’t know if we ever be able to judge or measure a man and woman equally. But if it is your individual choice, I request you to keep this notion in your mind.

Man and woman, both are living creatures, part of the same human race. So there is no need to view them differently.
